MDG 4: Reduce Child Mortality MDG 5 Improve Maternal Health
Download here a PDF Factsheet on these two goals to use with the "Survive Past Five" 5th Birthday party resource.
A 5th Birthday Party is a great way to engage your church, school or wider community, your local media, and your Member of Parliament to encourage our Government to do its fair share towards making sure that every child possible can survive to their 5th Birthday – and beyond. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the progress that has been made to reduce poverty, while also highlighting the urgent need to do more. Micah Challenge wants to see a ‘Survive Past Five’ 5th Birthday Party held in every electorate in 2010. This will show our leaders that communities around New Zealand want our Government to meet our commitment to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to halve global poverty by 2015.
Micah 2010 is and opportunity to encourage out leaders to remember their promise to bring half a billion people out of extreme poverty in our generation. The invitation is for churches to contact their local politicians and to tell them of our concerns that the poor should not be forgotten. Download PDF file with ideas for how your church can do this.
Our dream is that 10 million people will actively promise to remember the poor. 10.10.10 is an opportunity to show that wherever we may be in the world we are all standing together as Christians recommitting ourselves to the pursuit of justice and encouraging action from our leaders. Download PDF file with ideas to make 10.10.10 a day of spiritual and political impact in your church.
Imagine 100 million Christians praying for justice in the nations! This prayer will be used in churches around the globe on 10.10.10. Download PDF file with the Prayer, and ideas for how to use it in your church.
